WHO I AM
I am a provisionally licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Nebraska. I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Utah State University. After a short stint in teaching, I took a break to stay home while raising my five children. Being a wife and mother is one of my greatest joys, and one of my greatest teachers. I consider my experience of being a wife and mother to be most foundational in my work as a therapist. I formalized my education with a degree in marriage and family therapy from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have worked at UNMC midtown clinic as a therapy intern, where I better learned to appreciate the impact illness and/or mental health struggles can have on family relationships. I am a certified intuitive eating counselor, trained by Evelyn Tribole, and have led support groups for those working to improve their relationship with food. I have been trained in Gottman Levels I and II and EMDR. I am particularly drawn to the work of Richard Schwartz, founder of IFS; and David Schnarch, founder of the Crucible Institute. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, music and photography.
